About

June 15th, 2010

My name is Carl Welch. I am actively seeking employment. I have held many Art Director, Project Management, and Senior positions and most recently filled many “hats” within the IT, Education, and Marketing teams at The David Allen Company from art direction, project management to production.

For the past year I’ve been working for Taser International… yes, the “Don’t taze me, bro” guys. While there, I was responsible for the creation and management of all multimedia applications for Taser’s Evidence.com, a site for police agencies to manage evidence collected using the AXON, a tactical networkable computer combining advanced audio-video record/capture capabilities worn by first responders. The applications communicate with Evidence.com’s proprietary API and consist of a video player, which is capable of bookmarking video frames, creating clips, adding tags and categories, add members for sharing, download video, track activity, and adding annotations; A case manager which an officer uses to compile evidence to be used in court proceedings, which can also track activity, add members to share with, manage evidence, add tags and categories. The third is a coverflow-like app used to view latest evidence which belongs to the officer. I also, Interviewed and managed consultants to assist with the large amount of work required to build these apps.

From 2004-2008 while at David Allen Company (the GTD guy), as the  Online Art Director, I collaboratively managed and developed the David Allen and GTD brand across a wide range of mediums such as print, audio, video and web. I conceptualized the features and site architecture and technological requirements for gtdconnect.com, the company’s paid member site. I also managed all stages of video production, from lighting, shooting, editing, post-production, compression, and upload and distribution, which helped the company save money by keeping every phase of production in-house.

I am proficient in all Adobe and Apple creative applications and advanced scripting & programming (PHP, AS3, Javascript, JQuery, AJAX, XML, MySQL, JSON, CSS, XHTML, some java) and comfortable with Windows, UNIX and Linux servers. This broad range of skills gives me a keen ability to visualize the big picture and communicate effectively between departments and clients.

With nearly 25 years of experience, I greet every new challenge with passion, pride and enthusiasm. Whether working remotely or inhouse, nothing brings me more joy in my work than problem solving and bringing people together to execute ideas.

I have an excellent reputation working as an art director, designer and/or programmer and can manage multiple projects and meet tough deadlines.

Please find my credentials below. I look forward to speaking with you.

Thank you,

Carl Welch
